This morning I awoke to dismal skies with howling winds and rain, the forecast looks bleak with our weather for the next few days. So whilst having coffee sat looking out the window I thought how can I change my perception of this gloomy forecast. My thoughts turned to the animals and insects and looking out on my garden I began to think of the benefits these creatures of God bring to my garden and to my well being. I started to think of all they do, many of the things they do we never see but we get the rewards and so do our plants, these thoughts then turned back to the cold dreary weather and I thought about how they will now be well into their preparations for hibernation over the winter months.
These thoughts then turned to prayer for God to Bless these creatures, to hold them safely until the spring when they awake and begin their helpfulness in the cycle of life, a cycle of life we seem all to ready to take for granted, like we take for granted the daily rising sun. I also thought how God gave us dominion over the creatures, birds and fish, my contention has always been since a child that although we have dominion, we have not the right to exploit or abuse these wonderful creatures but we have to hold them up and care for them in the same way the Lord holds us up and cares for us.
So as we here in the UK pass from Autumn (fall) to winter, please take a moment out of your day to forget about self and pray a blessing on all these wonderful creatures that God created to help us through our journey upon this beautiful planet.
God Bless us ALL and may he hold us up so we can do what it is he has in mind for us to do.
