Phew! Asteroid the size of a bus that Nasa only spotted on Christmas Day made a ‘near miss’ with Earth today after flying between our planet and the moon at 21,000mph
Named 2017 YZ4, the asteroid was only spotted on Christmas Day
It passed by Earth at a distance of just 139,433 miles (224,000km)
The small asteroid is 22.6 to 49 feet in diameter (seven to 15 metres)
It skimmed past Earth at 4.56pm GMT (11.56 ET) this afternoon

Named 2017 YZ4, the asteroid was only spotted on Christmas Day, which means very little could have been done to protect Earth if it were to hit.

Battling a wall of iron men without human feelings or weaknesses—the book of Joel clues us in on how future wars will be fought. In fact, in the final war, we may not be fighting men at all, but synthetic fabrications, all mere imitations of life!

Just read how this Old Testament prophet describes a nation of future invaders who will lay waste the land during the end times when a day called “the Day of the Lord” is near.

“The day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand….Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come.” Joel 2:2

According to Joel, these invaders are not ordinary soldiers; charging forth, they devour the people and the land, and nothing escapes them. At the sight of them, all mighty warriors, nations tremble and every face turns pale.

Nothing affects those who make up this army! They seem super-human, rushing on cities and moving more like army tanks than men as they scale buildings and mow down walls.

“They all march in line, never swerving from their course. They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks… Before them, the earth shakes; the sky trembles.” Joel 2:7-10

Interesting that a positive spin is being placed on the replacement of humans by machines and robots. Ideas such as “freeing humans to follow their dreams”, idealising the thoughts of “being paid not to work”. Lovely thought, but it’s not going to happen.

Major tourist areas in Paris closed and wine cellars at risk as River Seine bursts its banks

Floodwaters were nearing their peak in Paris on Saturday, with the rain-swollen Seine River engulfing scenic quays and threatening wine cellars and museum basements.
Unusually heavy rains have engorged the Seine and other rivers in the region, forcing a halt to all boat traffic in Paris, including tourist cruises.
Some quay-side restaurants were submerged, and some roads and parks were closed as a precautionary measure – along with the bottom floor of the Louvre Museum.

Supermarket Bankruptcies Are Beginning to Pile Up

Regional chains are filing for bankruptcy. European-born discounters are expanding, forcing competitors to keep their own prices low. And Kroger Co. and Walmart Inc., the two largest grocers in the U.S., are investing in technology and expanding delivery as they try to fend off an incursion by Amazon.com Inc.

It’s a bleak outlook for a sector that was supposed to be rebounding this year. A historic bout of food deflation — which fueled a price war in the past two years — has ended, but efforts to sell more groceries online are gobbling up investment dollars. And some well-known names are crying uncle.
