Freedom of Religion Under Attack by Australian Gov’t

Wow, it’s bad everywhere. Things are progressing rapidly and not just in the US.

@Louise Brislane, are you hearing anything about this? (Not sure if I did the “tagging” thing correct?)

Dianna – unfortunately tagging only works in the Activity section of the site, and not in the Forum. I know it’s a shame, but I don’t know if I can change that. Interesting article!

I had a message in my inbox to say that I was mentioned in a status update, so have come to investigate & found this conversation. I have read the report in the Guardian which is the wrapping up of the Royal Commission. Frankly, I am afraid that I agree totally with their summation of the Catholic church. Only because of the church using the confessional everywhere around the world to continue in their deviate sexual practices. Even today it continues on with priests & as the other chap said, they cover it up but don’t address the issues or have the priests exposed & dealt with by the law. The whole church is riddled with the sin, it goes deep into their culture. So I personally think that the only way to maybe stop it is to ban the confessional altogether. Sadly other church institutions in the past have also treated children in their care inhumanely much to the shame of the body of Christ. But then when we go back into the past, it was a mans world & children were abused physically & it was accepted. I am old enough to have lived through part of it & believe me the attitude of today’s culture is totally different to the culture of my childhood. Back then the prevailing saying was that children were meant to be seen but not heard, also smack the child as he/she is either going into mischief or coming out. The majority of us were not asked for our opinion until we were 21 & considered an adult. Today 4 year old’s have opinions that are listened to. So some things have changed for the better for children but overall, life has become harder for them as families are breaking down far more today & so most kids do not have a stable family life. There are indications that the Government is not listening to the majority of its voters as far as our religious freedoms go but what is upsetting me most is that the Shepherds of the body of Christ as a whole are not directing their denominations to fast & pray about this whole situation going on in Australia at the present time. I am sure that the Lord is not one bit happy with the church in our country & that we will see judgment falling on this nation but most will deny it is the Lord’s judgment. They will see it as 1 in 500 year catastrophes or make other excuses. There is none so blind as he who will not see & I think the Lord has given us over to our sins. Romans 1: 18 onwards.
