Greetings Janet,
The same thing happened to me. Little by little I found myself questioning why I was spending so much time on it. I then started to see that the Lord was not welcomed there. Many believers hang on because they have made wonderful friends there, but the time has got to come to part ways with it. I am grateful for this site that Tony worked so hard to put together for every one including me. Interestingly, yesterday my son put on that face book movie, and I was sickened as to it’s origin. It was a meat market semi-porn/sex marketing site. I felt sick about it. I know many people would say, “Yeah but Joanie, at least it turned into a place that Christians can connect.” Yes, but now there is a price. And let’s not forget that Zuckerberg is cracking down on ALL Christian themes. Apparently, he wants it back for the hell he promotes. Have at it. In the mean time, this is a good place to express ourselves openly and freely, the way Jesus wants us to. Shalom to you!November 24, 2017 at 7:48 am #4541Anonymous
M.E., I know how you feel, as well as many others. Sad to say that the internet is the only conveyor belt that provides a connection to others around the world that hunger for Christ and love Him more than anything. Face Book has become so flooded with garbage. Here we can enjoy a breather from censorship. Shalom!

Hey Carl, Thanks for saying so! I feel like I can stretch my wings here!
November 24, 2017 at 9:34 am #4558Amen, Joanie. I recently left FB completely. I deleted my account and will never return. It was such a load off of my shoulders. I could feel the oppressive, spiritual shackles fall off the moment I deleted myself from FB.
I had only recently joined FB in August, in hopes of being able to share the work that I do for the Lord. I love the Word of the Lord, whether it be in the plain text or by Bible Code. I have written articles on Faith based issues, Biblical Commentary and Bible Code Articles and wanted to declare the Glory of the Lord from the mountaintops! 🙂
But I had found that I was soon sucked into correcting much of the extremely bad doctrine from self-professed prophets, and FB preachers that twisted and abused the Word of the Lord. I would supply scriptural references in an effort to help the newer sheep that had blindly accepted the Words of these aforementioned people. I found it very draining. The people who twisted scripture and posted lies (either knowingly or unknowingly), would come up swinging and I watched in horror as it turned into a digital bloodbath for me and many of my beloved brothers and sisters.
I realized something quite profound a little while back, as I was deliberating for an entire month on whether or not I was going to completely pull the plug on FB, or just not interact with people. Facebook is truly a drug. It is highly addictive to many. Many of my well-meaning brothers and sisters sent me messages, begging me not to go and said it was my duty not to leave my “post” and to let my light shine for the Lord in the very dark digital world of FB. Often I had felt guilty for having this pressing desire to go. Ultimately, once I had realized that FB is Social Opium for a Digital Ghetto, it didn’t take me long to leave.
Sit and think about those words: “FB is Social Opium for a Digital Ghetto.”
I am so glad that I listened to the Lord and unplugged from FB. My stress completely melted away. The oppressive chains fell to the floor. We are led to believe that using Satans media against him, is the best way to fight back. But it only sucks the life out of you.
I will continue to let my light shine for the Lord, but it will be in the physical world. We are so needed there! We shouldn’t stay behind the computer screen when the battle is outside!
Often, the Words of Yeshua (Jesus) run through my head: “Occupy until I come.” And occupy, I shall do. A good soldier stands their ground, and holds down the fort until their General gives them the orders to “Move out.” The battlefield is outside guys. We are so needed out there! The early church did not just stay in one spot and argue with people. They got out there and spoke the Word of the Lord! I am hard pressed to see Peter or Paul sitting behind a smartphone or computer screen on FB, if these men were alive today. They would be out and about, getting the job done.
Am I saying I think it’s evil to use the computer to write, read, blog, vlog, or fellowship with others? No. I love this forum and all my brothers and sisters here. But the problem lies in the addictive nature in much of the Social Media platforms, including, but not limited to FB. It truly is a drug, that yields a fallacious sense of belonging or acceptance, and gives many people a false spiritual high– causing them to have very little time left over for the Lord. The platform itself is almost worshipped, while the Lord is shelved. How much time do we spend in prayer on average? Five, Ten, Thirty minutes? One hour or two seems almost impossible to fit into our day!
Did you know that the average person checks their phone over 120 times a day? But the amount of times we touch our smart device on a daily basis is staggering!
According to Network World, ” We’re obsessed with our phones, a new study has found. The heaviest smartphone users click, tap or swipe on their phone 5,427 times a day, according to researcher Dscout.” The article goes on to further state, “That’s the top 10 percent of phone users, so one would expect it to be excessive. However, the rest of us still touch the addictive things 2,617 times a day on average. No small number.”
Wow! Did you see those staggering numbers? Here is the link to the article, so you can read the rest for yourself: https://www.networkworld.com/article/3092446/smartphones/we-touch-our-phones-2617-times-a-day-says-study.html Many different sites say Social Media takes up almost 4 hours of the average persons day. (Source: https://hackernoon.com/how-much-time-do-people-spend-on-their-mobile-phones-in-2017-e5f90a0b10a6)
And here comes the tough question… How much time do we dedicate to the Lord?
Blessings guys! Wonderful, thought provoking post Joanie. 🙂 Much love.

Well I do not think there is one standard, but many depending on “relative truth perspective.” I only post on AMTM group page, and that barely because I will no longer spend my time babysitting and refereeing grown adults bickering and getting offensive. I refuse to utilize my God given time to that. I am glad that we do have this forum. At least no one can tell us what to do or say. That is unless we get shut down by new bill against net neutrality. By then I wont care at all. This is my last bastion of time I will give, and it will be right here.

Here is my reply to Kara:
Hi Kara,
thank you for sending me this very well thought out email about the addictive power of fb. Check this out. Early evening, my son asked me if I wanted to watch a movie. He knows I do not like a million of what everyone else calls good. He put on one made about the Face Book. I think its even called that. I did not watch more than about 30 miserable minutes of it. But I forced myself. I of course know like everyone else who started, it, when and how (so I thought). But what I saw was exactly what God wanted me to see. You know me Kara, you know how I am all about going back to the roots of everything, because its beginning is its roots, and the roots bear the fruits of it. It started out with Zuckerberg in college getting dumped by his girlfriend because he was a boring straight up nerd boy. He started getting drunk right away and heavily lusting on girls. He was not a ladies man so he sat behind a computer screen and started a secret site that could only be accessed by members he approved. He called the site: whoshotandwhosnot. He posted pictures he hacked from girls personal computers and posted their pics. He would put up a girls pic who was hot, and another girls pic next to it that was less than pretty. This site began to gain immense popularity.
I did not stay to watch it any longer because of total debauchery and constant cussing. Tons of sexual garbage. Well, so I thought, “There you have it Joanie, there is root. The author of fb is the enemy, and no wonder Christians have been getting booted off. The enemy wants it back.” It was the enemy’s from the beginning and had its roots in filth and antichrist hell. Christians made a choice to become members of it because we all thought we could dismiss its dark side and say to ourselves, “Well, that may be so that there is a world of evil on it, but there is also the Lord working on it.”
Kara, think about it. At the tap of a finger we can access the worse porn, satanism, witchcraft, and every other filth under the sun and we compromise and say, “Well, at least we use if for fellowship and preaching.” I really came to my senses. I saw it so clearly. We are okay to share a site that is owned and operated by an apostate Jew named Zuckerberg. It is authored by the devil. Satan gave Zuckerberg “all the kingdoms of this world and the glory of them” for a price. FB is more than just a drug. It is empowered and fueled by evil forces that make no apologies for Christ-hating censorship. Many people that have once thundered their faith and love for Jesus Christ have laid down their thunder for the sake of not being booted off this antichrist forum.
I don’t care how you spell it. It’s like the enemy has tricked us, allured us, seduced us and tempted us into a slow death so to speak. He offered us our own plot of ground in his digital kingdom, with his blessing of posting anything we want about the Lord. He has gathered millions upon millions of people from all over the world to offer them, sell them a piece of digital real estate. Then when everyone became addicted to it, he then began to attack them. And the very terrifying thing, is that now you have millions of millions of Christians who have bowed the knee to this satanic idol, rather to renounce it and turn away from it. It is time that will be accounted for. Your statistics that you found prove that this digital age has now captured the entire world and controls them. FB is truly coined well by you, in that it is a social opium in a digital ghetto.
Shalom to you,
JoanieNovember 24, 2017 at 11:09 am #4569Anonymous

Hello everyone 🙂 I am finally posting here. I have had to change my password a couple of times already, not sure why but no matter, I am finally getting a chance to post.
I have not ever been threatened by FB (yet) and I know I have posted some pretty harsh things in the past, but so far I think all my posts are still there, that is of course except the posts I shared from Tony that were removed 🙁
I have pulled away some from FB myself, I too don’t need it but for now I feel a slight compulsion to stay. I have my own very small group where I have tried to get the others involved in digging deeper into scripture as this was the purpose of the group in the first place. Sadly only a couple people ever get involved but it has not been fruitful due to doctrinal disagreements and hurt feelings. I like you Joanie (and I am sure all who are here now) do not need FB. I never had social media growing up and although I was never involved in a denominational group, the Lord was faithful to bring a handfull of sincere lovers of Messiah to fellowship to my home. The Lord showed me many years ago that He wants His people to get back to the early believers type of gatherings when they met in homes, those designated in the different towns/cities that had a sufficient place to gather. Early on He took me on this journey and I (and 6 others) met in my home and we all had the best time of fellowship that I/we have ever experienced. We read took turns reading the word out loud, had discussions on what we read, we prayed together & for one another. We sang worship songs, we broke bread and all this was done with no leader except the Holy Spirit.
There were some pretty amazing things that took place during those days and I long for them again. Unfortunately not too many these seem to have the time or desire to really dig in to the word one on one with the Lord, instead they run to YT,FB or any other online teaching site to learn, then share what they think they have receieved from the Lord.I am not knocking anyone for this at all! I am just sharing what I have experienced in my few short years on FB.
Sorry for the long winded post! It is good to be here with you all.
I Love and respect Tony,Brook, Joanie and the others behind the scenes that I haven’t conversed with yet on AMTM.
Thank you ALL for all that you do to keep us informed. God Bless You Abundantly!

Thanks Michelle. It’s great to have you here in the forum. What you wrote makes loads of sense, and I agree that social media has taken an overly-signifcant place in so many of our lives. While I think it does have it’s place, for many people it has become almost an idol in itself.

A Minute To Midnite Show HostDecember 5, 2017 at 4:56 am #4792Great post! I didn’t realize FB was removing my share option because it was showing up for me on my wall but other people kept saying they liked what I said but couldn’t share it. I just thought it was a glitch or something on their wall but evidently it was the FB police removing it after what you said in your post. Thanks for opening my eyes to that.
December 16, 2017 at 10:48 am #5077I have just joined the forum and its nice to have other people that believe, people that love the grate “I AM”, And recognize Yeshua as salvation. Finally there are people that actually study the bible and don’t just throw out pieces of it.
