E118 The Glorious Liberty of the Children of God!

The true Christian life is not for the faint of heart. There seems to be so many personal interior expectations that multitudes demand of themselves. As if there is some spiritual switch that gets flipped on at the new birth moment. That could not be further from the truth. The notion that there has to be instant perfect, mature performance must be evident is exactly what becomes the big stumbling block. Then Satan the “accuser of the brethren” gets involved taking advantage of the weakness of the new as well as the older Believer. Many live lives one day feeling that they are pleasing and well behaved before the Lord. Then the next day when they do or say one slightly wrong thing, they feel as though they are nothing more than sad cases that God can barely put up with. This grieves the heart of God more than anything. It takes time to grow in Christ, and it is a daily walk that of “faith and patience.” The “glorious liberty of the children of God” is the space to make the mistakes and not live chained to high performance Christianity!
