The subject of doing devotions to many Christians is varied. Many encounter difficulties in finding the time due to demanding pressures of the day, while others have trouble reading the word and cannot concentrate and give up. There are some that try to set aside the time, but fall asleep or the enemy begins to make it difficult by increasing distractions. Yet, there are others who do make the time, and discipline themselves to find the time and place to meet the Lord daily in intimate devotions.
There is also a common feeling that it is not necessary to do devotions if they are going to Church, or listen to worship music, or a video sermon, but their lives are mostly dead spiritually and they cannot figure out why. There must be a heart of love and strong desire to meet with Jesus at any cost. When that desire is present, the power to engage Christ makes that person alive and steadfast. For they do it not just to say they did it, but they do it because they cannot help but leap forth to meet with Jesus every single day no matter what. This daily life in Christian devotions after so long a time strengthens and matures. It builds great power, and time spent with the Chief Shepherd cause those that do to become more like Jesus in great beauty, bearing “fruit in their season!” They grow in the grace and knowledge of God, in authority, honor and power!
* “Joanie Stahl’s Field Notes” is strictly run off of your God inspired financial gifts which helps me tremendously to continue working full time in this ministry I love so dearly. It also allows me to cheerfully give to others in need and in helping to further the Kingdom of God. Another way you can give is through prayer. As the Lord Jesus Christ moves you to pray for me I so hugely appreciate it, as I fully know and understand the powerful value of prayer.
