A very informative show! Good to see Matt back with all his information. The world at the moment seems to be crawling with all kinds of heretical teachings & quite a few seem to overlap. It is almost like Satan is trying to overwhelm us with all types of theology to confuse us, also to wear us out with all that is going on. It truly is exhausting trying to decipher all that is creeping into conversations with other Christians. To sort out the truth amongst the noise.
At the present time we are studying Galatians & it is interesting to see Satan’s first attack on the church with Torah observance & here we are again 2,000 years later dealing with the same heresy rearing its ugly head again. The thing that most people don’t realise is that by adding the keeping of the Sabbath or circumcision, or special days, foods etc to the mix of their salvation by faith – without works – as Paul tells us, they are in actual fact adding works to the equation which in essence is telling God the Father that sending Jesus into this world to become a curse for us & die in our place wasn’t enough & that is blasphemy against the Godhead! People are so deceived, they don’t read their bibles every day, nor do they pray asking the Holy Spirit to bring the Father’s Word to life & show them the truth. I suspect that they only read the parts that suit them instead of starting in Genesis & reading the whole bible from cover to cover.
This year I keep getting aha moments when reading through the OT & then the penny drops & I suddenly see why Paul wrote this or that, or why Jesus taught this or that. So it is so different to what I was getting out of my daily readings last year. I have a habit of using my pencil through my bible & so I see last years under linings or notes. I took up John Little’s advice a couple of years back & purchased the One year bible & love it as it is much easier to follow each day as the various readings are altogether for that day.
Anyway, it was good to have you two guys back together again & when I looked to see how long it was going to go for was happy to see that I would have an hour which goes so fast as there is so much around to discuss. So I hope it isn’t too long before you team up again. Glad to hear Matt’s feeling a wee bit better these days. Married life wouldn’t be helping there now would it!! ha, ha,ha!!
