166- Joel Richardson and Bill Salus – The Identity of Mystery Babylon!

I follow the one year bible format. I also have developed the habit of talking out aloud when reading the Scriptures as well as praying in my morning & night devotion & prayers which actually has helped develop my devotional time as my mind doesn’t wander off like it used to do. So last December when I was reading Revelation through, I ended up seeing a lot of it through different eyes. Then I opened Bible Gateway & read it all in one sitting as you would a novel, out aloud & I have now gone back to the Roman Catholic/Vatican being the one world religion & the pope being the religious leader. Revelation 7: 13 talks about the ones coming out of the great tribulation. Then I also noted that in Revelation 13: 7 – 10 it states that the beast was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. Then you read Revelation 20: 4 – 6 and it says … Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the Word of God and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power but they will be priests of God and of Christ and they will reign with Him for a thousand years.
My question is this: Why would you want a pre-trib rapture knowing that if you go through the great tribulation you will have this privilege to reign with Christ for the thousand years!! I can’t say that I picked up on those verses before when I have sat & read Revelation, but then, this is the first time I have read it out aloud & you hear what is being spoken & so I am finding so far lots of little things I hadn’t noticed before. I am upto Exodus 23/24 today & have noted things there that I hadn’t realised were there – or actually in that order before! Did you know that the candle stick Moses was to make was to be made out of pure gold weighing 1 talent, which in Australian weights is 34 kilos of gold or I think it was 75 pounds. That is one heck of a lot of gold & I am still trying to wrap my mind around seeing that much pure gold!!!

I believe there is both a Spiritual Mystery Babylon, and a Physical Mystery Babylon, both of which are wrapped up in the Monetary Mystery Babylon. It is all intertwined, like a gigantic, malicious spiderweb.

Although Islam is indeed created in part by the Vatican, and will undoubtedly be used as an Army by Satan, it is not Mystery Babylon itself. It is but a tool of the Beast System.

Both of these gents are correct, in part. It’s what happens when we become so resolute in our own ideas, and seek to be correct. We tend to look at events and biblical prophecy in the micro, vs. zooming out to the macro. We will do almost anything to prove our theories correct over someone elses. But, at the end of the day… they’re still just theories.
