E127 The Desert Places…ALWAYS the TRUE Path of the Saints!

The true Christian life is not lived out in flowery fields of glory. The majority of the time it is a wilderness experience. Those that are the real Born Again believers will find themselves having short to long periods of very spiritually dry days, weeks and even years. There is no hard or fast scale because it is different for each person, but the dynamic is the same. It is in the desert places where we suffer the loss of feeling of the revitalizing streams of Living Waters, and the satisfying nourishment of Living Bread. The desert causes unquenchable thirst that even overtakes hunger. There is no comfort, and the sense of absence of the presence of the Lord. There is only silence on His side of heaven, and a deep sadness take over like the “stones of emptiness” in the parched void land of uninhabited Babylon. However, this is where the hunger, thirst, grief and longing for Jesus pushes the saint with all their might into the presence of the Lord for very life’s sake. When the time is finished to leave the desert, then power comes in with new power that was never there before. Do not be afraid of the meanness of the desert wilderness because it is a place where in reality He walks with you and brings you out of it transformed, mighty and fortified, a “vessel meet for the Master’s use!”
