I really treasure all of the openness and transparency on this forum!
Jason, I have found that the gifts that I have been allotted are mostly for ministering to the Body of Christ, and not so much for ministering to myself. It may seem that brother or sister super Christian is all that and a bag of chips, when in reality they have cultivated a spiritual gift and are using it for the Body and find they have to go to another member of the Body to get THEIR issue(s) dealt with… or it could be that they are not hearing from the Holy Spirit at all and in reality they are using a familiar spirit…that’s where discernment comes in.
You have your gifts, too. For example, I don’t know you,but I see that you really shine in the area of getting a conversation going and making people feel comfortable enough to join in on the discussion topic. I’ve witnessed you doing it several times on FB and in here. Not everyone can do that.
January 21, 2018 at 6:14 am #5789Rene the scripture supports that. God seems to want us to be dependant on each other in a sense. We are all given our gifts for the uplifting of the whole, and not so that we can lift up ourselves. I think that is a good aspect to inspect when we see ‘super Christians’. Do they use their gifts to lift others up to YHWH or do they humble brag on themselves? 1 Corinthians 12 has quite a lot to say about this.

Some so-called super Christians may not even be Christians at all. Jesus plainly tells some folks that prophesy, cast out demons, and perform miracles…in His name, no less, that He NEVER knew them. Many times the tares are the ones that make a big display of their gifts, give themselves titles, and have a lot of spiritual pride. It’s best to remember that Pharaoh’s magicians were able to duplicate much of what God did through Moses and that satan and his entourage know the Scriptures much better than most of us. We are called to serve and love and the ones who serve and love best are the true super Christians!
