Bearing Good Fruit In The End – A Dream I had last night
It started out that I was in some large warehouse-type store. It was some cross between a Walmart, Home Depot, and Toys-R-Us. I was there alone and was walking up and down the aisles, looking at all the things for sale. I wasn’t interested in anything to actually buy, because I knew that I didn’t need any of it. Everything looked so appealing and had great prices, I couldn’t believe how great the prices were. But, I was not interested. I knew that the little money I had needed to be saved and used elsewhere – rather than on all the merchandise, clothing, and toys for sale in this store.
A group of ladies that I knew from my church were there and they came up to me talking about what a great store it was, asked what I was buying and so on. I smiled at them but then, suddenly, I felt a movement in my lower abdomen – a movement that I have not felt since I was pregnant with my youngest child. Shocked, but trying not to embarrass myself in front of these ladies, I placed my hand down there to feel…a baby! I was pregnant! I couldn’t believe it! How could I be pregnant, and far enough along to actually feel a baby!? I knew that my tubes had been tied with my youngest during the Caesarean delivery, so how could that be? I was immediately overjoyed and the ladies must have noticed a change in my attitude and attention because they then started crooning and congratulating me on my bundle of joy. I was asked how far along I was and without thinking I said, I think I am about 22 weeks. I honestly didn’t know, but that is what I guessed based on the size of the baby in me. When asked if I thought it was a boy or girl, I immediately and without thinking said, “Elijah”. “It’s a boy and his name is Elijah.” After a few more coos and squeals, the group of ladies left and I found myself leaving this mega-store.
I pondered about the child inside of me, my little Elijah. I was filled with joy. Soon, I found myself walking up the steps to an old craftsman-style house, my house (though not in actuality). A woman (who I still do not know and never was able to focus on her face) came outside and in a resigned tone told me that the doctor’s office called and said that they could no longer see me as a patient since I was no longer “in the system”. I asked what that meant and she could only shake her head and say that it was all medical offices, all specialists, all hospitals and medical care. Because we were no longer “in the system”, we no longer had access to medical care. My thoughts went to my unborn child and I asked the woman, “This means I will have to give birth at home. What will happen if I have complications?” I had two caesareans before this, because of not being able to deliver normally and naturally. I wasn’t afraid, but genuinely wondered how I would pull off a home-birth. The woman just shook her head and went back into the house and I followed her in.
Within minutes a huge storm began to rage outside. Some members of my family were inside of the house as well and they looked out at the storm. They immediately started packing up to leave. The storm was definitely bad enough to warrant an evacuation, but I could see that leaving in the midst of the great storm would be dangerous, if not impossible. I knew that to leave the safety of the house was to commit suicide. I warned them not to leave. They left anyways. But when they left, the scene changed. Instead of my family walking out of the house into the storm, I saw them in a boat floating towards death in a tunnel of darkness. I was still in my house watching this, and kept yelling at them to stop and come back, not to continue down that tunnel, but it was as if they couldn’t hear me or didn’t care. In the blink of an eye they were gone, the dark tunnel was gone, and I once again could see the storm raging outside the windows.
I began to hear whining, like a dog would make, coming outside from my porch. Concerned, I opened the door and walked out onto my porch to see a dog in the front yard, right below my porch, cowering in fear. The storm was absolutely awful, like worse than a category five hurricane. Floodwaters were beginning to rise in my yard. I figured that the dog would see the porch and jump up to safety. I turned and went back into the house. After a few minutes, I felt bad for the dog and went back out to see if it had gone to safety. The dog was literally under water, drowning, and didn’t have much time left. I yelled out at the dog, asking why it didn’t just jump on the porch? Before I could go down one step to rescue the dog, it looked up at me, barely sticking its head above water, as if it was waiting for my permission to move. I told it to jump up on the porch so that it wouldn’t drown. It immediately leapt out of the water and onto the porch. I brought it inside and dried it off, and you could tell that it was extremely grateful at finally being safe out of the storm. The rest of the dream went into your typical random dream – where nothing made sense and I was no longer in my “right mind” so to speak…you know, how when you dream normal and you can’t recall anything, but know that the dream was a jumble of nonsense? It went to that before I woke up.
It was when I woke up that I really pondered the first part of my dream, and I asked the Holy Spirit if that dream was from Him, or if it was truly just a dream? Throughout the day, I felt Him reveal the meanings behind each part of the dream, even now as I write. I pray that you test the spirit when reading my interpretation and that you ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and understanding. May only truth, His Truth, be told here. Here is my interpretation:
-The warehouse store represents the modern-day world with all of its glitz, glam, technology, and the culture of things. Satan tempts buyers with cheap prices, but once someone buys, they are stuck with something that is not good for them. Satan makes sin look appealing, thus his earthly kingdom looks appealing, but it is just that – looks. Deep underneath it all though, is a waste of life. Sin, with its gilded façade, leads to death.
“…Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.” – Habakkuk 2:5
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23-The group of ladies that I knew from my church did not necessarily represent them individually in reality, but a general representation of the church. There are many who claim to be Christians, and in fact are born-again believers, but they have fallen in love with Satan’s kingdom – his cheap prices on worthless goods. They praise up and down that which should not be sought after, yet they still walk as if righteous. They are blind and deaf. They are those who are asleep, who are unaware of the reality of Satan’s trap.
“So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” – Revelation 3:16-Me, who would be considered medically sterile through a tubal ligation, was suddenly pregnant. This represents that I was once lost, barren, sterile – full of sin and darkness, unable to bear good fruit. Yet, because of the blood of Jesus, I was redeemed. I am redeemed and the pregnancy represents the Holy Spirit filling my once barren body. I now have the ability to produce good fruit, the Fruit of the Spirit. I wondered at the pregnancy and was overjoyed, as one is overjoyed when giving themselves over to Jesus completely. I felt complete, as one feels when receiving the Holy Spirit.
“…every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” – Matthew 7: 17-20
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23-The church ladies were excited and overjoyed with me, because they recognized that bearing good fruit, that having the Holy Spirit, is a wonderful thing. But, though they profess with their mouths, their actions show up nothing. Faith without works is a dead thing. Not having love and not bearing good fruit, makes you nothing more than a clanging cymbal or a resounding gong.
“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” – James 2:26
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” – I Corinthians 15:1-The baby being a boy, and his name being Elijah, represents the spirit of Elijah that is to come in the End of Days. It does not mean the literal Elijah, but that as a believer and remnant of Jesus, we will bear witness to the whole earth. We will be a voice of the Truth. We will be like ones calling in the desert, as with John the Baptist. I say desert, like John the Baptist, because this world is so fallen and so spiritually barren, that it is like a desert. In the midst of all the evil and immorality, we are here speaking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, trying to fulfill the Great Commission.
“And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” – Luke 1:17
“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.” – Isaiah 43:10
“Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” – Isaiah 44:8
“3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”[a] 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. 6 They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. 8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.11 But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.” – Revelations 11: 3-12
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20-I don’t think how far along I was in my pregnancy had any specific meaning other than the time for Jesus’ return is near. The End Times are described as the earth groaning as if in birth pangs. Though I told them 22 weeks, but was just guessing, all goes to the fact that no one except the LORD God Almighty knows what time it truly is. Only the Father knows when Jesus will return again to begin His millennial reign. Being able to fully feel the baby though, suggests that the time is very near. The End is near and Jesus is coming soon.
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.” – Mark 13:8
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father…Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” – Matthew 24:36, 42-44-Not being able to receive medical care represents the Beast system and how it will affect Believers. Those who stay true to Jesus and obey His Word, will be denied any care and be denied of any basic services. Though we are not to worry about how we will survive, we should accept that this will happen and when it does, we are to trust 100% in Jesus. Pray that we will overcome, even when life seems hopeless and we have to run for our lives.
“It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[a] That number is 666.” – Revelation 13:16-18
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” – Revelation 20:4-The house also represents the church, small and a little beat up, but safe and secure. However, the storm raging outside represents the coming Tribulation and the Time of sorrows. During this time, there will be many in the church who will fall away. People we are close to and love, family members, and friends will fall away from Jesus. They will be enticed by the darkness and instead of staying in the safe arms of Jesus, they will go out into the storm and into the darkness. They will choose Satan’s kingdom over the Kingdom of Righteousness and Truth.
“But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.” – Mark 4:17
“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” – Hebrews 6:4-6-The waters rising outside represents sin and just the overall amassing of evil, as in the days of Noah. The floodwaters will rise, drowning anyone who remains a part of Satan’s domain. The dog represents the lost, those who have never heard the Truth, the Gospel, and have never heard the name of Jesus. If no one reaches them, they will not know to go to safety. If they do not hear that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, they will not survive. They will die. But, when I told the dog to jump on the porch, to come into the safety of the house – it represented the servants of Christ sharing the Good News with the lost, leading them to the safe arms of Jesus. Those who have been called by Jesus will hear His voice and come to Him. They will seek Him for redemption, but only if we bring Jesus to their ears. How will they know Him if we do not serve and reach out to the lost? Those who hear His message and choose to stay in the storm, will remain lost and will die.
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” – Matthew 24:37 -
