And I really liked that John warned against being too dogmatic on one´s favorite idea how everything will work out.
A good example is the candidacy for the False Prophet. Currently a lot of people think: Well, that´s the easy question. Horns like a lamb, speaks like a dragon. For sure it must be a Roman pope who is the head of the church in the world´s eyes!
That´s a bit too easy for my taste. And as I often stated, premature identifications of the two beasts could be propagated and used as a “red herring” by intelligent evil forces and their little false prophets among us with their fake dreams/visions.
So here are just two more scenarios to challenge people´s preconceived notion on the False Prophet:
On the one hand, some New Agers claim that in the end “Master Jesus” will return, who was in “the office of the Christ” during the bygone “Age of Pisces” and is not even the greatest among the “ascended masters” and certainly not “the Christ” for the coming “Age of Aquarius”; so this “Jesus” is said to return to Rome to take over as head of the church, clean house of misconceptions of who he really was, and then point the Christians towards his succesor in “the office of the Christ”, who will be “the final Christ”, namely “Maitreya the Christ”; so this pseudo-Jesus would certainly be a false prophet who looks like a lamb but speaks like a dragon, wouldn´t he?
On the other hand, have you noticed that the signature-miracle of the False Prophet – calling fire from heaven – was also the signature-miracle of the prophet Elijah? And who are the Jews still waiting for to come first and to show them the messiah: Elijah. So will the False Prophet claim to be Elijah, perhaps returning with his sky chariot from the heavens where God took him once and pointing to the Antichrist as an alien saviour? And will at the same time, when the two witnesses of God show up in the city, one of them be the real Elijah who will preach against this imposter?
We should keep an open mind and open eyes.
