E129 Contending for the Faith and KNOWING when to Rest!
People that live near and dear to the heart of Jesus Christ can't help but have a firey love for Him and everything regarding His interests. It is quite natural from the heart to defend the Gospel when error is present. Contending has different forms and aspects to it. The common thought is that we all must be in an ongoing contending for the faith, which is not the case. There are times when we have to know when to walk away or not answer a hot head. Even a calm person who has zero interest in hearing the truth, but just wants to intellectually spar. Not everyone wants to give up their doctrine which they contend for because they are convinced of it as being the truth, and they love the god of that lie. What and whoever people love they will defend, and the more they love the fiercer they become. The same is for us that believe in the Finished Work of the Cross and the shed Blood of the Lamb of God. However, we are not called to fight every fight, many times we have to draw back and rest. Many people who are in war engagement find it hard to let the sword that is cleaving to their hand rest a while. This is a mark of maturity knowing when to contend, and when to rest and let God perform all things for us. If we do not, then Satan will wear us out in the flesh , so that we cannot utter potent spiritually dynamic prayers to God that will destroy him, and render to us unnecessary defeat!

** "Joanie Stahl's Field Notes" is strictly run off of your God inspired financial gifts which helps me tremendously to continue working full time in this ministry I love so dearly. It also allows me to cheerfully give to others in need and in helping to further the Kingdom of God. Another way you can give is through prayer. As the Lord Jesus Christ moves you to pray for me I so hugely appreciate it, as I fully know and understand the powerful value of prayer.
