A Fight Against Demons & The Spirit of Addiction
I have a prayer request, unfortunately a situation that is plaguing our country and the world.
My neighbors are known drug addicts. I'm talking about a small single-wide trailer filled with upwards of a dozen people. They both manufacture and use meth, they sell and buy opiates, and they shoot up heroin. And it's been revealed to me through the Holy Spirit that low-key occultism is practiced by someone there - probably through the use of the said drugs. There is a strong demon who has been given control of this property and a neighboring abandoned property. Literally all who go to these places fall under this demon's affliction. I do not know its name, but he has confronted me a handful of times - so there's no doubt that demon is very territorial and he hates me. He hates me because I pray almost daily, both in the spirit and out loud against him. And I have been shown that I am not strong enough to evict him from his territory since it is not my properties - which goes into the whole territory/authorization/etc... thing.
However, The Lord has made it clear to me that though I am powerless, He is Powerful. He has tasked me with consistently praying against this demon and to pray for these people caught in the bondage of sin. He once told me that no matter what I do, no matter how small, He is working in the hearts of each and every one of those people. And I have seen Him work already. One neighbor moved out and started going to rehab and became active in a local church. He has nothing to do with these people any more and didn't even tell them where he moved (though we know). Two other neighbors moved away as soon as they could, though I know nothing more about them except one is now friends with a Baptist preacher who is another neighbor of mine.
Of those who are still there (again about a dozen), they have all been in and out of jail. Two days in a row this week ambulances have made a visit for OD's. Six police raids have happened in the past 3 - 5 years (according to another neighbor), and three weeks ago the county sheriff did a very low fly by with the chopper over the neighborhood, so the authorities definitely know.
Today, two of the people who would be considered the worst of the bunch - the two that are the most in bondage, their chains are so thick and heavy, literally collapsed in front of my yard and started to use. I came outside and confronted them. I asked if they needed help and they responded with "they were just picking up garbage". I told them that only Jesus can remove their trash, that only Jesus can free them. If they turn to Him, He will forgive them because He loves them. They agreed and gave the "Yeah, I pray every day and I love Jesus! How's your kids and your husband?"....you know the typical response to get me to shut up. I responded only with that I was praying for them and that I pray for them every day. That we truly care for them and would continue to pray for them.
They immediately got back up and literally, barely managing to walk - these two skeletal bodies riddled with disease and drugs, staggered back down the road towards their "hub", mumbling to themselves. I began to pray once more, against that demon and for the freedom of each and every one of the people there in bondage. So please, for all my prayer warriors out there (you know who you are), will you join me in praying? Will you pray for the deliverance of the Tecoy Quarry neighborhood? Will you pray for the people's freedom and that our neighborhood will be cleansed and claimed for Jesus? These people have no one else to pray for them. And sometimes, my task is a lonely one. But, I feel led to ask for help. Like I said, this demon is a strong one.
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
